Attio's MCP server or Deskhand for an AI agent?
Attio hosts an MCP server and describes confirmation before writes. Deskhand is a hosted CRM where the agent is the operator and you watch. This page lays out what each says it does.
Side by side
| Attio | Deskhand | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the agent connects | Hosted MCP server at mcp.attio.com/mcp, authorised with OAuth as your Attio user. | MCP over streamable HTTP at /api/mcp and a JSON HTTP API; a bearer key per agent. |
| Whose identity the agent acts as | Yours: access is tied to your Attio permissions. | One key per agent, with scopes, a rate limit, a daily send cap and a pause switch. |
| Approval before an agent acts | Reads are auto-approved; writes ask for user confirmation before creating or updating data, per the docs. | Off by default. A workspace setting (auto, email, all) plus a per-agent override. |
| Email tools in the docs search and read messages (for example get-email-content). | Agents draft email; drafts wait in the To send queue in the console. | |
| Plans | The docs say the SQL query tool is not on every billing plan. | Free during early access: 3 agents, 1,000 records. See pricing. |

Deskhand's own controls
- Undo. Revert one change or a whole agent run from Activity. Records edited since are skipped and reported.
Choose Attio if
Your team already works in Attio, you want an assistant acting as you with a confirmation on each write, and you need Attio's data model and views.
Choose Deskhand if
The agent should run unattended with its own identity, key, caps and pause switch, writing on its own with every change audited and reversible, and you want approval as an opt-in rather than a click per write. Contacts can be imported from an Attio CSV: import guide.
What to know
No price comparison is made here: Attio charges per user and Deskhand per workspace and agent, so the numbers do not line up.
