MCP Suite CRM or Deskhand for an agent-run CRM?
MCP Suite CRM is the closest project in shape: an agent-first CRM with scoped agent keys and approval gates for risky actions. It is open source and self-hosted. Deskhand is hosted. If you want to run your own server, read the first column carefully.
Side by side
| MCP Suite CRM | Deskhand | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | Self-hosted: run from source or with Docker Compose. The README marks the project pre-release and it is licensed AGPL-3.0-only. | Hosted. Sign in, get a workspace and a key per agent. |
| To run it yourself | A 64-bit Linux machine with mise (make setup, make dev) or Docker Compose with the mcpsuite/crm image. | Nothing to run: it is already hosted. See the changelog. |
| How an agent connects | MCP over stdio and HTTP; scoped agent keys created under Admin, Agents and shown once. | MCP over streamable HTTP at /api/mcp and a JSON HTTP API; a bearer key per agent. |
| Approval | Approval gates for risky agent actions, per the README. | Off by default. A workspace setting (auto, email, all) plus a per-agent override. |
| Audit trail | A shared audit trail, per the README. | Audit log with agent, run, before and after values. |

Deskhand's own controls
- Undo. Revert one change or a whole agent run from Activity. Records edited since are skipped and reported.
- Email. Agents draft email; drafts wait in the To send queue in the console.
Choose MCP Suite CRM if
You want to own the server and the data, you are comfortable with AGPL terms, and you can run Docker Compose or build from source.
Choose Deskhand if
You want it running today without hosting anything, with undo of a whole agent run and an email desk with drafts and suppression built in.
What to know
Another open-source option, anosf/crm (MIT), lists 24 MCP tools and revert of a single change through the UI or API, and runs self-hosted on Node or Docker with SQLite, per its repository.
